Today, February 19, 2011, marks one year since the passing of Travis Gary DiCarlo - one of Sisters by Heart's founding inspirations. Travis holds a special place in all of our hearts. And so, on the first anniversary of his passing, we felt inspired to honor his life in a very special way.
We've created an event - "Balloons for Travis" - for our families, friends and supporters to take part in. All day, around the United States, red balloons are being released in memory and celebration of Travis. Rememberance Tags are being placed on each balloon released - bearing a photo of Travis, a special message and a fact regarding Congenital Heart Defects.
Balloons for Travis, the Facebook page, is a tribute to the life of Travis Gary DiCarlo and a place for all of Trav's family and friends to remember him and his influence on our lives. Please join Sisters by Heart and share your photographs from your balloon release or tribute in how you remembered Travis today. We've also asked those who find the Rememberance Tags to log onto Balloons for Travis and post where the tag was found.
We love you Travis and celebrate your life today and always.
While we're all celebrating Travis' life, please say a prayer and send positive thoughts to Travis' parents and sister, Roger, Nicole and Addison, during this most difficult of times.
